How to Stop Animals from Entering My Home

Home » Uncategorized » How to Stop Animals from Entering My Home

Wild animals have their own rules, and some of them are very disciplined. Nonetheless, once they start entering your living areas or home or premises, you should immediately start looking for ways to shoo them off.

If you don’t look for ways to stop them from entering your home immediately, these animals can damage your house, lawn and turn it into a messy-looking place.

We can offer some tips to stop them from invading your home.

Get Trappings

It’s the best and foremost solution you may think of. Yes, it’s a more effective way to keep animals from entering your home. You should know state laws whether trapping is allowed. As in some states, it’s not.

Though managing a trap is a time-consuming effort and animals get cautious if they see any other animal trapped in it.

You can hide them under thin, well-spread wild grass, branches, baiting them, etc. Remember, you need to dispose of the animal off once it gets snared.

Use varying Repellents

The repellents are a significant cause of concern for almost any wild animal.

Repellents come in the form of chemical sprays for different animals. They become more effective when you apply them persistently. You can find physical repellents such as sound emitters, sprinklers (work on motion nearby), and ultrasound emitters as well.

These repellents may be annoying, but another effective way to keep animals away.

Fence Wall

Fencing your wall is a great option to keep almost any animal or big birds away from roaming around. Depending on what kind of animals are lurking around to enter your home, you can devise a fence accordingly.

A fence can give you the option of whether you want to cover the home and surrounding lawn, garden, or just the home perimeters. You use a sturdy fence wall that is only two feet underground to give the right amount of strength against the animal pushing it in.

You should ideally keep the fence at five to six feet in height to discourage animals from hopping over it.

Get rid of Hanging Branches on Roof Top

Remember, animals can use the tree branches to hop in your fence wall as well. If you have trees whose branches are hanging over your home-roof, garage area, or sheds, just trim the branches and keep them well clear and above the area. These branches can act like runways for animals.

Otherwise, animals like squirrels, raccoons, etc., cannot climb up and destroy your property.

Seal all Access Holes to your Home

You should make monthly or biweekly inspections around your home, sheds, garage, and fence wall a routine to see if there are holes. If you identify any holes which can attract wildlife to access your property, just seal it off completely.

Just ensure there are no wild animals already inside the hole. Small holes are often home to some furry or smaller animals.

Conclusion

While taking all precautionary measures to safeguard your home from animals entering your home, please ensure you don’t throw around food wastes, as it invites wild animals.
